C3-Week1Quiz wrong explaining

I got this question wrong but the explanation doesn’t seem to match with the option I choose:

{moderator edit - quiz question and answer removed}

I was graded wrong and this is the explanation:
Incorrect
The true data distribution is changed. It means you need to adjust your evaluation. Because you evaluate your learning algorithm on dev and test sets, adding more data only to the training set doesn’t help the algorithm to perform better.

I feel this is for the last choice “put the 1,000 images into the training set so as to try to do better on these birds”.

Can anyone please take a look? Also I would like to know what the correct answer would be.

Thanks,
Zoey

We are not allowed to give the correct answers in a public way. Your choice says nothing about what to do with the 1000 images of the new bird, so I can see how they would grade that as incorrect even though I agree that the explanation from the grader is not as specific as one might wish.

The best way to figure out the correct answer is to try the various choices. The only problem with that strategy is that you only get 3 tries per 8 hours and they don’t always give you the exact same questions on a repeat attempt.

Sorry we can’t be more specific.

Besides Paul’s response, because the question is asking you “which to do first”, it means that there can be more than one option that are doable, but you need to decide which one should be done first.

Among the four options, I believe one of them is definitely wrong, but for the other three, you need to think which to do first and why.

Cheers,
Raymond
