I finished the lab few times but the page on the course did not update.
I followed this solution: W3W2 Ungraded Lab is not complete! - #2 by tomstryja

to refresh the page but the lab did not update to completed status.
Do I need to complete this lab?

Hi! To other learners who also have this issue, this is related to how the Coursera UI works with Ungraded Lab items with external links. We’ve now updated all ungraded labs to Reading items so you can simply click Mark as Completed when done. Thank you!
