The notebook has a frequent error : “Permission denied: release/W3A1/Planar_data_classification_with_one_hidden_layer.ipynb”. At the end, the notebook cannot be submitted at all. I can’t save to other names or download a copy because of this error. Now waiting for help online.

Are similar problems occurring with W4A1 and W4A2?
I get a Permisiion denied and cannot submit the assignment as shown in the image below.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay.
Kindly try this:
- From the blank notebook, click
File -> Open. - Tick the running notebook.
- Click
ShutdownthenDuplicate. - Rename the old notebook (any filename).
- Rename the duplicate with the original filename (basically, just remove the
-Copy1string). - Open this newly renamed notebook.
- You should be able to save this and also see the submit button after a minute.
You “might see an error about checkpoints failing. I think that’s okay because that’s related to the permissions of the hidden .ipynb_checkpoints folder. That is not needed for grading as far as I know. The changes should persist in the actual notebook itself even if they see that error. I submitted the notebook and got the expected grade.”

I have the same issue every time I try to save or submit my assignment I got the message permission denied.

Many learners told us that this workaround can help them get a new copy of assignment that has the permission to save work and submit work as usual. This is something you could try to keep moving on.
