'Equal distance' boundaries

Hi everyone, I’m doing the programming assignment of week 3(Advanced Learning Algorithms), and can’t understand what the sentence “The lines represent ‘equal distance’ boundaries where the distance between center points is equal” means. Is ‘equal distance’ boundary such a line that the distances between this line and center points of clusters, which it separates, are equal?

Thanks in advance:)

Hey there! Yes, you’ve interpreted the phrase correctly. The “equal distance boundaries” are lines that separate clusters in such a way that the distance from each cluster’s center point to the boundary line is equal. The reason is to achieve a balanced separation between the clusters.
