Hello All fellow Learners!

Hello All,

I hope you all are ready for a great holiday ahead! I am Nafees and I am looking to grow in the area of AI & ML. I am an absolute Noob when it comes to ML and come from a Data Analytics Background (Heavy on the SQL).

I am thinking about taking some of Andrew Ng’s courses to get started. If anyone has any recommendations on where I can get more practices, I would really appreciate the guidance.

Excited to making new friends and connections.

Thank you.

Kind Regards,
Nafees Mahbub

Hey Nafees,

I would start with MLS. That is kind of like ‘t-ball’ for DLS and what comes later. The one question might be is how and where are your Python skills ?

Even I’ve had to learn new tricks along the way, but if you don’t know Python at all, you might want to take Prof. Ng’s new ‘Intro to Python’ series first (as it doesn’t really get explained in the classes)…

And SQL, of fun-- I’ve studied a bit, but not been put in a ‘production’ environment with it yet… the only thing I can say is I can see someone practicing Python for one… But for the life of me I can’t see someone practicing SQL ‘for fun’… :face_with_spiral_eyes:

(Note: “MLS” refers to the Machine Learning Specialization on Coursera)

Can start with Machine Learning Specialization by deeplearning and Stanford

Haha love the rhyming at the end. Thanks @Nevermnd. I had taken some Python back in college and I plan to take an intro class right after I complete this course. Thank you for your response.
