Hi! Salesforce Dev with biophysics education switching to ML

Hi everyone!

My name is Frank, and I’ve been working as a Salesforce Developer for the past seven years. Seven years ago, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Physics (a five-year program in homeland Belarus), specializing in Biophysics. Right after graduating, I started working as a Salesforce dev to earn a living—sometimes I regret not pursuing my scientific interests though. Recently I realized I was getting bored with Salesforce, even though it more or less satisfies my financial needs, and decided to explore Machine Learning.

I completed the Machine Learning Specialization on Coursera and am now working through the Deep Learning Specialization. Deep learning is fascinating to me. Not just learning how to implement it in practice, but I’m more interested in the underlying theory. There’s so much to learn, and I’m excited by all of it!

Ideally, I’d like to pursue a master’s degree in ML and eventually a PhD, but it doesn’t seem to be an option as I need to keep my full-time job to provide for my family. So I hope online resources and books will be sufficient to become an expert in the field and satisfy my curiosity. Looking forward to learning with everyone here
