How can i download the dataset and other files from the notebook workspace

  • I know how to setup the project to run locally but i cannot download all the data files one by one.
  • Can someone help me from the community who knows how to tackle this problem.
  • Also the course is not running on coursera labs which does gives a option to download all files.

Hi chairo,

As it is explained on the course:

:computer: Access Utils File and Helper Functions: To access the files for this notebook, 1) click on the “File” option on the top menu of the notebook and then 2) click on “Open” . For more help, please see the “Appendix - Tips and Help” Lesson.

I followed these instructions and I could access all files of the course and download them.

Hope this works for you.
Happy learning

  • Yes i know how to access them but as mentioned above i have to download every file individually from each data set !!
  • which I think is quite some manual work
  • And also the download button only downloads one file even if all have been marked to download

@chairo , basically you need to download each file. On the other side, if you have the tar installed, you can run the tar command in your notebook to zip the entire directory and then download the zipped file.
Keep learning!

@arosacastillo, I know this is a old thread, sorry for bringing it back, but now I’m facing a similar need. I’ve just enrolled in the course “Building Multimodal Search and RAG“ and I’ll like to download all files for reproducing works locally. Ho do I have access to a console/terminal for running tar or alike for zipping the entire directory?

Hi @VLorz ,

Did you try the suggestion from @carlosrl ?

I created a script in Python, compressed all the files, then just downloaded the zip.

Thanks!
