Hi everyone, I’m Sue. I just started my learning journey with AI. I’ve been an artist for about 40 years, so this is quite a new experience for me. I think this part of my brain has atrophied from lack of use. I haven’t taken any courses except for art in many years. I don’t have any specific reason I want to learn AI. I want to see what it’s all about and have fun with it. I’ve always enjoyed computers, and I would like to learn what I can do with AI and even see if I can use it in relation to my art. I’m in brain overload mode right now, so I’ll be back on here more when I get deeper into the course. I asked for and Grok has given me a whole program for learning AI, and this is step one.
Hi Sue! I am Joana and I have architecture and design background. Currently doing the Deep Learning Specialization and loving it! My aim is to use AI with my art, it would be nice if we could connect and exchange ideas!
Hi Joana, I apologize for not getting back to you sooner! I am just now getting back to the forum. I’m doing week 2 now. I am auditing the class, so I can’t get graded on the quizzes. I think I’m getting it anyway. I’m trying to come up with a simple project related to my art, but it’s a challenge. I am trying to think of a way to teach my program to select the best of several thumbnail sketches for landscapes or flower pictures. How do I teach a machine to judge composition? I considered providing black and white examples of successful landscapes or florals, but it seems I would need to input a significant amount of information. I don’t have what you would consider a typical business, so many of the examples they provide don’t relate to me at all. I’m curious about how you plan to relate AI to your work. It sounds like you are considerably further along in the learning process than I am.
I was a commercial artist, but switched to fine art when I relocated. about 20 years ago. I had some injuries to my shoulders that I have been dealing with, and I can’t wait until I can get back to it on a more regular basis. In the meantime, AI seemed like something worth learning about.
