Twenty years ago, I studied physics in college. I had been doing well up until that point, but when I got to Math Physics, and matrices, I was stumped. I never understood it. I felt like I had reached the upper limit of the math I could understand. I barely squeaked by with a D in that class, and avoided future classes that listed it as a pre-requisite. Which made graduating a challenge!
But the way that Dr. Ng explained it in the optional videos, it just clicked. It makes sense now. Through the fog of two decades, I don’t recall transposing the first matrix, but instead the professor diagramming with a series of diagonal lines. I don’t know if I just missed something crucial at the very beginning or if he was trying to teach in some other manner, but it never made sense.
So, thank you to Dr. Ng, Coursera, DeepLearning.AI (I know, I just thanked Dr. Ng three times), and Stanford for finally unlocking this mystery for me.

Finally…
Glad to know that.
Your story is inspiration for those who think math is not for them.
