I have a question that the optional labs like cost function intuition or Gradient descent implementation are just for concept or these labs are main part of specialization.
Hi. The optional labe means that there are not necessary to keep moving through the concepst of the course, you dont have to know how to implement gradient descent and cost function, but it is expected good understanding of the concepts.

Studying the optional labs is a very good idea. You can learn a lot by seeing how they work, and what they accomplish. This will increase your understanding of the course material.

@SamanEjaz I totally agree with @TMosh and @pastorsoto that these optional labs are very much useful to build your concepts. However I have also seen that many of them leave it by seeing it has an optional
