Module 1: Hyperparameter Optimization Quiz1 Correct but didn't get the point

Hello Folks,

I answered correctly, but I didn’t score any points in quiz 1 question 4.

I think there are some errors in the system.

Hi @chentianyu,

Firstly, I apologise for the inconvenience due to lack of proper output for questions of this nature. This has been noted and will be addressed soon.

Secondly, the reason you did not get a point for this is because this question expects multiple answers, and you have only selected 1 of those. Again, we acknowledge the lack of proper output for this.

Basically, for any given question, if its answer options are all “circles”, it is a single choice answer. If answer options are “squares”, which in the case of this question, they are, it expects multiple answers.

Select all the right options, and you should get the point.

Best,
Mubsi

To be fair, the response does give an appropriate explanation in the results: notice that it says “You didn’t select all the correct answers.” So the information is there to be seen.

It would be nice to modify the question to say something like (“select all that apply”), so that everyone is aware in advance instead of ex post facto, but the key point is that we need to be aware of the meaning of the shapes of the “click boxes” on the answers: that tells us which type of question we are dealing with. Of course you can also discover for yourself by clicking one answer and then clicking another: it will either clear the first one or not, depending on the type of question.

The square option represents multiple choices. I see. Thank you!

I was careless! My attention was focused on the large green area, so much so that I didn’t notice ‘You didn’t select all the correct answers’. Thank you for reminding me.

Hi @chentianyu,

The text, “You didn’t select all the correct answers’” was not part of the feedback before (as you can see from your earlier screenshot), which is why you didn’t notice. This text was added after I asked the team for a fix.
