Old vs New Machine Learning Course

Hi, for those that were in progress with the old Machine Learning course on Coursera - is there a way to finish it? It seems that only the new one is available right now. Does it mean that everyone who was in progress needs to restart with the new curriculum? Or is there a way to finish the last couple of weeks under the old version?

I’m in the same boat as you; I was on week 6 of the old course when this new one launched. I’m still able to access the old course here https://www.coursera.org/learn/machine-learning-course/home/

Hey @robthemonster @Lookaash,
I am afraid the old course will not be available any more on the Coursera servers. In my region, it is not available any more. If somehow you are able to access it currently, very shortly, it won’t be accessible any more. So, I suggest you guys to get started with the new course only.

Off course, if you find some overlapping concepts, you can skip those particular lecture videos. I hope this helps.

Hi team! I’ve received email regarding this matter, which included the following:

If you’ve already enrolled in this course, you will be able to continue accessing it on your Learner Dashboard forever.

In order to earn a Course Certificate, you will need to complete all graded assignments by December 10, 2022. After this point, no new assignment submissions will be accepted for Certificate credit.

I’m on week 7, and still can continue the course by accessing it from Coursera Dashboard
So, I believe it still can be finished. But, seems that no more certificates can be ordered

Hey @ktatarch,
Thanks a lot for sharing this. It will surely help a lot of learners. I guess people who weren’t enrolled in the original course like me, don’t have access to the old course anymore.

However, I would still like to suggest you guys to start with the new course instead. It not only has updated video lectures covering the same concepts, but also has additional video lectures regarding some new concepts which were not explored in the original course.

Additionally, the assignments have been updated to use Python, which is the industry norm these days, and additional pratice labs have been added. I hope this helps.
