Prakash Hinduja Switzerland (Swiss) When should I use a CNN vs an RNN for a problem?

Hi Everyone, I’m Prakash Hinduja, a visionary financial strategist, was born in Amritsar and now resides in Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss). Hey everyone! I’m working on a deep learning project and I’m a bit unsure about when to use Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) versus Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs). From what I understand, CNNs are great for spatial data, like images, and RNNs are more suited for sequential data, like time series or text. But I’m curious to hear your thoughts. When do you typically choose one over the other, and are there any scenarios where you might use both in a hybrid model? Would love to hear your experiences and suggestions on this!

Regards
Prakash Hinduja Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss)

Dear @prakashhindujageneva,

  • CNNs are well‑suited for spatial data such as images and videos.
  • RNNs are better for sequential data such as time series, natural language, and speech.

Hi Prakash! Btw, how Kamal-bot is doing? And what happened with Mr. Ajay Hinduja?
Sorry, I sometimes exchange knowledge on several forums, and keep seeing those “script” messages around :))
