Previously completed assignments now show as due

Hi,

Today I was completing week 4 of “Source Systems, Data Ingestion, and Pipelines” and noticed that my programming assignments from week 1-3 are now showing as due. I’m pretty sure I’ve completed them over the last weeks.

I also noticed that the steps to access the environment to do the programming assignment has been changed today (we no longer need to open an ec2 instance for the IDE and copy assignments files manually).

So in summary, the steps to access (and build the IDE for) the assignment have changed today and reset my previously completed assignments in this course. Can you help troubleshoot and restore my past completions please?

Thanks

Hello @Claudio_Lima,

I understand it’s frustrating seeing completed assignments as incomplete. For this you could contact Coursera support. There is a chatbot if you click the blue circle at the bottom right corner. It should help with your issue upgrading your course labs to the new environment and losing previous progress. Thank you

Thank for your response. I have done that before posting and can’t find a resolution as this is an exceptional event/bug. They also don’t provide an email to explain the issue to a human, so not sure how can i reach customer support team further?

Actually if I ask the bot to talk to a human they put me on a queue. Thank you!

Hello @Claudio_Lima,

Yes you should be able to get contacted in your email. I received one earlier about upgrading the last course and waiting a response as well. They said they will forward it and might take some time but they should be able to help you. Just to be sure, is this the correct chatbot in the help center that prompts to a description of the issue. The other chatbot inside the course doesn’t help with all the issues. Hope it helps

It does help, thank your prompt response - much appreciated!

@Claudio_Lima sure, just add a description of your issue there. Should help, cheers

I ran into the same problem. Coursera support said they wouldn’t be able to restore my progress, and I have to redo the labs :confounded:

Hello @Baranovskyi_Andrii @Claudio_Lima,

Sorry for the inconvenience and the labs should’t be updated to a different version and this behavior is expected only if you hadn’t made a lot of progress in the previous version.

However it is on Coursera side that provide the labs and it is strange to switch them while already enrolled to the Course. I understand it is frustrating seeing them as incomplete and you need to redo the work, hope it helps

I have the same issue. I have all my labs and assignments from Weeks 1 to Week 3 reset with no warning. I’m currently on Week 4 and close to being done when this issue.

Hello @Mubsi,

There are some learners with the same issue and their assignments appear as incomplete during the course. Coursera seems not to be able to restore the progress, is there anything that can help them. Thank you

Hi @Georgios,

The best bet was Coursera. If they can’t reinstate the progress then I’m afraid one has to redo everything.

There’s nothing we (DeepLearning.AI) can do about it.

Best,
Mubsi

Ok @Mubsi I understand. I hope learners not have a lot of effort redoing them. Thank you!

Hope so too.
