Room for non-maths contributors

Hi all,

What fields of AI are there which don’t include maths?
My dyslexia affects my maths skills.

Do you want to create new AI methods?

Or do you want to learn how to use existing AI methods to accomplish specific tasks?

Thank you for your reply.
Netiher I want to develop my knowledge of AI and ML but everyone I have spoken of has said that without Maths this is not possible.

Surely there must be a sphere where for peole like me?

Most of the courses focus on applying machine learning methods. There is very little math required.

You might try the “AI for Everyone Specialization”, and see how that goes for you.

Hello @Scriptkiiddy

Can I know what is your educational background or work experience if any?

Thanks for your reply!

I have business degree but have been working for 5 years as Systems administrator maily using Windows and PowerShrll.

Happy to learn coding but Maths is a major NO NO as can’t process figures at all. (Think process ability of 5 year old). this is a major pain as cost me no end of issues.

Based on the information provided by you, you could learn Deep learning specialisation, there is some math but not too hard, mainly you learn to understand wide understanding about layers, algorithm or dataset needs to be understand and handled. Even if you find it difficult be open to ask here in the forum, mentors will try their best of abilities to respond.

Once you have done this specialisation, you would require tensorflow which will help you in understanding some of the important aspects of AI like data generator. Simple calculations like a input shape dimension might confuse you, but then again I personally big fan of Lawrence Moorney the instructor of both courses of tensor flow has done great job at even explaining what a codes significance is.

Then as you are from business and administration part of the world and are not exhausted by the above courses, you could go to natural language processing specialisation where you would understand how words can be vectorised and then tokenize to creating language models which further could be learn by doing GenAI with LLMs course.

DP

Thank you for your deep reply.
I will take this into account as I proceed on my learning journey.
I am starting with AI for everyone to learn the basics.
