The Importance of Human Developers

There’s been something that I’ve been wrestling with for the past few months or so. Maybe someone here would be able to provide me an answer to an unresolved question. Given humanity’s past history of stories, more specifically science fiction (e.g. The Terminator, etc.), would it be unreasonable to assume that artificial intelligence apps likely have a human operative or developer monitoring what gets absorbed into the training material? OR to potentially enforce a language model’s terms of service either by the company that produces the app or a third party cybersecurity one?

Such questions tend to keep me up at night, but may have prompted a journey of self-actualization that includes a discovery of my own faith and possibly finding a religion that suits me. Though enough about me. If someone could shed some light on the matter for me, it would be much appreciated.

Hi there,
i think i can answer your question: you’d better find the story of professor Geoffrey Hinton to read and you would understand the question. As a pioneer in the field of neural network-based artificial intelligence and a top scientist researching the maximization of human brain potential-whose work indirectly contributed to the rise of several tech giants like NVIDIA- this scientist devoted the first half of his life to advancing AI. However at the age of 70, he and his disciples began focusing on criticizing and halting the further development of artificial intelligence. They also have deep concerns about AI.
