This is the first topic I create, so I apologize for any mistake on my part.
As per title I am looking for advice on the best and most direct learning route to take for my specific situation.
I work as an accountant in the public sector and I want to learn AI to augment or automate some of my (and eventually my team’s) tasks.
I am currently taking Generative AI for everyone and loving it so far. I have got some basic programming experience and I have the intention to take CS50P (the one from Harvard university) to get a good foundation with Python. I have also got a good foundation in math (Calculus, Algebra, Geometry and basic Statistics).
Welcome to the community! We’re thrilled to have you here.
It’s fantastic to hear that you’re enjoying Generative AI for everyone and that you’ve got a solid foundation in programming and math. Given your interest in AI to augment or automate accounting tasks, you’re on the right track.
If you’re learning AI because you enjoy it, continuing with the basics of programming, Python, and reinforcing your math skills is a great approach. This will equip you with a strong foundation.
However, if you aim to become a machine learning engineer, consider the following specialized path:
Machine Learning Specialization
Deep Learning Specialization
Hands-on practice with popular deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow
On the other hand, if you’re looking to leverage automation tools for accounting tasks without diving deep into machine learning, tools like Robotic Process Automation (RPA) can be beneficial. They are designed for automating routine tasks.
Feel free to choose the path that aligns with your goals and interests. If you have any specific questions or need further guidance, the community is here to help.
