C2W1 Assignment: Grader Issue with Troubleshooting Database Connectivity on AWS

image

The grader in [Week 1 Assignment: Troubleshooting Database Connectivity on AWS] is deducting 5 points from the inbound rule part but I do have the rule that made it possible to connect to the DB as shown below.

Hello @lugha289, you can try deleting the other rule (step 2.13) and post a screenshot of the submission report to see further. Thanks
C2W1_submission_report2

It’s a pop up that looks like this:

Didn’t help.

Here are the rules after I deleted the other one

and here’s my submission report.

Sorry, here’s the report

Yes that is helpful. Thanks for the info

Hello @lugha289 I couldn’t reproduce the issue. Could you try going really fast through the lab (just create the instance and immediately delete it then create the correct one) go to ec2 and should look like this:

Afterwards if you follow the instructions in step 2.13 and submit it should get 20/30. Thanks again

Thank you, @Georgios!

I’ll try this later this afternoon and update you. Thank you!

Hi did you solve that issues. I got the same error 5/10

Hi Georgios,
I receive same error but couldn’t solved.

Hello @adars1993,
I could reproduce the issue after creating the inbound rule with the wrong Security group ID, You need to go to the EC2 running instance and copy the correct sg-id. Then edit the inbound rules and add the correct one and delete the previous one, thanks

I did it completed the lab. But still this issue. If i didnt copy the correct SG.of EC2 how was I able to access postgres and completed lab. I deleted cloud9 recreated did all step still samd issues

You should be able to complete the lab without accessing the posgres at all. If you try again the grader just checks if you create the instance, then delete it and create the correct one and just skip to 2.12 to edit the rules. Then it checks if you add the inbound rule with the EC2 instance security group. After that just create the policy as you did before. Hope it helps

I donf have privileged to terminate or delete instances when I try to terminate. I had to make a new cloud 9 env.

@adars1993 you should be able to get a new one if you create the correct environment with the VPC setting. Try editing the rules at RDS step 2.12 and use the security group id. Sorry for trouble but since its a grader issue we cant simply refresh the lab. Thanks

Still same issue. Would you be able to fix with Anydesk or give me full marks of grading please. I tried many times. Multiple time i created cloud9 environment and delete and started from 2.12

Even after not putting single inbound rules in RDS security group, it still give me 5/10

Hello @adars1993,
Could you try a lab refresh by filling this form. You can choose an option (e.g. account still in cleanup) and your course/lab to start fresh. It should take 1-2 days and I hope it will resolve your issue.
