here is a screenshot of the top of the spotify web-api documentation located at Web API | Spotify for Developers ! The documentation clearly says that the Web API is a Spotify Premium feature. This change happened on February 11, 2026 – almost two months ago.
As you can see here at spotify-for-developers when trying to create a spotify app, the option to create a web API is not selectable for free accounts as we are instructed to do in the video.
I would much prefer this certificate course that I am already paying for to not have hidden costs embedded in it that go to other services as a requirement.
What solution is there to this problem? It appears to me that the whole assignment needs to be recreated using another free service. I am sympathetic to that being a relatively difficult fix, but that is the correct solution.
