DLS course

Hello friends, I recently followed this beautiful DLS course, and I noticed how over time it has been updated to keep up with the latest discoveries in the field. Since I want to keep up with the new discoveries that will come, I wonder if this course will continue to be updated over time and if there is a section where any new updates are communicated. Thanks)

I am not aware of any updates to the scope of the DLS course. It does get updates as necessary to fix errors or improve the assignments.

There is no general page that tracks the changes.

some videos were clearly added later than others, a clear example is the video where andrew explains the architecture of the transformer (which is a more recent discovery, 2017), the discontinuity with previous videos is clear. It would be nice to have a newsletter that keeps track of further additions over time. Thanks for the reply

The last major update to the DLS courses was released in April of 2021 and featured the upgrade from TensorFlow 1.x with no “eager” mode to TF 2.x with eager mode.

In the process they also added some material in Courses 4 and 5 to bring things more up to date, like the Transformers material that you and Tom mentioned and they added the material on Image Segmentation in Week 3 of the ConvNets course.

As Tom says, we have not heard of any updates being planned specifically to DLS at the moment, but they make announcements of new courses and updates to existing courses here on the Discourse forum. You can keep an eye on the News and Announcements category. It’s also a good idea to follow Prof Ng’s The Batch newsletter, which you can get in email form or read on the DLAI website.
