Duplicate lines in closed captioning and transcripts

Hi, Some of the videos have duplicate lines in the closed captioning and transcripts.

For example, in the Module 1: Finding Information - Using Deep Research video, the transcript and closed captioning start with these duplicate lines:

0:00Sometimes, you may want your AI to synthesize not just a handful of sources, but many, maybe

0:00Sometimes, you may want your AI to synthesize not just a handful of sources, but many, maybe

I also noticed it in the Fine-tuning & RL for LLMs: Intro to Post-training course too.

Thank you, Tom

Hi T_O,

Thanks for reporting this. I’ll pass it on.

Something for you to look into @chris.favila?

Hi, and thank you for reporting. Will forward this to the team!

Hi. Unfortunately, I can’t reproduce the issue. Can you share a screenshot and also mention the OS and browser (with their versions) you’re using? Thanks.

Hello Chris,

Here is the information you requested.

Computer:

  1. Dell Desktop PC
  2. Edition: Windows 11 Home
  3. Version: 24H2
  4. OS Version: 26100.4946

Browser:

  1. Google Chrome
  2. Version 148.0.7778.179 (Official Build) (64-bit)

The duplicate lines does not happen on all the videos. Focusing just on Module 2, I see duplicate lines on three videos and five without duplicates.

These I see duplicates: brainingstorming with ai, reasoning with ai, lab overview: brainstorming and critique with ai

These I don’t see duplicates: context, ai desktop apps, sycophancy, writing with ai, ai critique

Below is a screen shot of one of the videos with duplicates.

If you need more information, just let me know.

Thank you, Tom

Chris,

Since you were unable to reproduce the problem, I took a closer look at the duplicate lines issue on my side and when I accessed the videos in Firefox, the problem is gone. No duplicate lines. When I switched back to Chrome and tried incognito mode, the problem is also gone. So it is something with my Chrome browser.

So no need for you to investigate it futher.
Thank you for your time,

Tom

Hi Tom. Sorry for the late reply. Thank you so much for describing the potential fix! This is a strange bug and the team is aware of it. I added your case to it. Hope they’re able to find the root cause so it can be patched. Thanks!
