Well, maybe you need to fix this yourself proactively in the platform, now that you know the solution. This causes each individual loosing several hours of precious time. And I’m a paying customer just so you know!
Hi Mohsen. I’m sorry for the trouble. We’ve already informed our partners about this and they are working on it. Unfortunately, we can’t troubleshoot this on our own because we only provide the content. The platform is not handled by our team. If you reached out to Coursera and they are not able to help, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do. Thank you.
Hi Chris, I understand. The issue is now resolved by them. Thanks.
Hi @chris.favila
And what is the reason for discontinuation of the specialization? It is super useful and doesn’t have analogs.
Hi @chris.favila ,
I have enrolled for the courses using my company subscription before May 8th itself. But I have received a mail stating I have been unenrolled automatically from the course. I need this specialisation for my work purpose, and I am in the mid of the lectures too. How to get the access to these.
Hi Lalitha, and welcome to the Forum! Have you tried reaching out to Coursera (instructions here ) about this? What did they say? Can you let me know (via direct message) what their exact message was about unenrolling? I don’t think I’ve seen that before. Thanks.
Hi, and welcome to the Forum! Discontinuing courses 2 to 4 is part of the company’s continual evaluation of its course catalog and where to focus efforts on supporting learner needs. Nonetheless, the material in these courses is very much relevant so (if you still have access) we encourage you to take notes and save your work before they’re taken offline. Rest assured that the team will continue to monitor and maintain them until October 23. There are new courses and Specializations in the works for later this year that we can’t talk about just yet. Stay tuned!
I’m currently at Course 3 and would like to finish the specialization to get the certificates. But the link of Course 4 doesn’t work. Is it because I’m still at Course 3? Does it mean that I can’t finish the specialization, and thus no certificate?
Additionally, not sure if it’s a linked issue, I completed week 1, including graded lab. But it doesn’t show that I completed Week 1 on the left pane.
Hi Channing. Are you currently enrolled in the Specialization (i.e. monthly subscription)?
So, I kind of love Prof Ng. in both all his honesty and everything he has done for this community, and perhaps so many communities-- I mean way beyond ML, he founded Coursera itself, addressed on so many topics. for goodness sake.
Yet, I can understand some of the frustration. Aside from my deep personal interest in all this, my end goal is either create/find an occupation in this field where some sort of certification could be important.
To that end, I did find this reference:
Chip is also of Stanford, but many have said they found her course to be very good. I have recently ordered a copy of her text Designing Machine Learning Systems [Book]
Unfortunately, the lectures themselves were never released, but otherwise I seem to have heard good things.
Perhaps Prof. Ng has some pressure on this button !
In any case, my (very minor) two cents on this topic for those still interested in learning…
Yes, monthly subscription for the Specialization.
Please DM me the email address you’re using for Coursera. Thanks.
Hello Chris,
I am enrolled with a monthly subscription to Coursera for the ML Engineering for Production.
I’ve already finished Courses 1, 2, and 3. I am going through Course 4’s Week 2.
Sadly, today, I can’t access the materials anymore in Coursera.
I’ve sent you a DM with the email I use in Coursera.
Could you help me, please?
Hi Fabricio. Do you mean you were suddenly locked out while in the middle of the course? Can you access the chat option here and ask a Coursera agent about it? This seems like a recent platform bug. Let me know if they also can’t solve it and I can escalate to our partners. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!
Hi Chris,
Yes. Until yesterday, I watched the videos and completed the labs of Course 4—Week 2 without any issues.
This morning, I wasn’t able to access the contents anymore, and I could not see the course in progress.
It is as if the course never existed.
This link just shows me a white screen: Coursera | Online Courses & Credentials From Top Educators. Join for Free | Coursera
I recorded a video of what I’m experiencing.
I will use the link you provided and get back to you if they can’t solve the issue.
Thank you!
Did you accept Coursera’s updated Terms of Use? They were issued on May 27, and you cannot use Coursera’s services until you agree to the change.
I tried accessing the chat, but it seems it is currently unavailable.
I contacted the support team via email form.
I hope they solve the problem soon.
Hi TMosh,
I didn’t remember being prompted (or receiving an email) to accept the new terms, and when I go to my profile, I don’t see any message.
Do you have a link to check for that?
Every time I visit Coursera, I get a big screen-covering popup that prevents accessing the site. I have not yet clicked on the “Accept” button on the popup.
Maybe you have a pop-up blocker?
Or maybe the new Terms of Use don’t apply in your region. I do not know, it’s just a possible explanation for the issue you are seeing.
Perhaps you can contact the Coursera Help Center.
