In the two previous courses and the introductory section of this course itself, Robert mentions the importance of communication and language, alluding to his (and others’) work. But it isn’t until this video, Helping Communities Help Themselves, that the importance of communication, and therefore language support, are so impactful.

The examples given here are really well done and, in my opinion, quite mind-blowing!

It’s so mind-blowing that I have started a similar project for Kreyol Matinik and Gwadloup, two low-resource languages very close to each other.
