By the way, I’m finding that I can’t create topics in the Data Engineering Course section (which I’ve been doing) - is there a way to get around that?
You should be able to. Just make sure you have navigated to the actual course first before you create the topic. I think it’s an update.
I have, though I’m doing the course in Coursera (as opposed to on the DeepLearning.AI platform) - could that be the issue?
In general, forum users cannot create new topics until they gain a certain level of trust. This is achieved by being active on the forum.
The DLAI learning platform is only used for Short Courses. The Data Engineering course is on Coursera’s platform

Thanks for the information @TMosh - I was wondering if you have any information around quantifying the level of activity required?
For example, I’ve been able to reply and help with another student’s questions - but I’m still not able to ask my own questions where I’ve had them in my second course i’m doing (the ML specialisation)
@abbasasaria90, your trust level is “member”, so you should be able to start new topics. But only in forum areas that allow new topics.
For example, if you are viewing a forum and all you see are a set of sub-forum icons, then you need to select one of those before you can add a a topic.
