I am doing a 4 week course - AI for Everyone – but it tells me my assessments are due in 9 days and I just signed up for the course

Hi there. I signed up for the 4 week course AI for everyone only days ago, but it is telling me my assessments are all due in just 8 days from now. I don’t understand why I have to finish a 4 week course in less than 2. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Did you pay Coursera for a complete course (in which case you have 180 days to complete it), or are you on a monthly subscription?

I paid for the course itself. But each week has a big flag at the top saying: Assessments Overdue: You can still pass. You need to pass these assessments before the end date on September 15, 1:59 AM CDT

Then you can ignore the weekly deadlines, they are only reminders. They will reset automatically.

I believe it’s referring to the next week’s assignments, not the entire course.

And again, they’re not actually hard deadlines.

Thanks!! I’m a rule follower and didn’t know how I was going to cram 3 weeks of this into a few days. Appreciate you, TMosh!

@TMosh Could you expand on your comment?
If paying for the course means one has 180 days to complete the course and due dates can be ignored, what is the corollary for a paid subscription? i.e.: how many days to complete the course and would this also impact assessment due dates, and why?

What exactly do you mean by “paid subscription”? How is that different than “paying for the course”?

Apologies for the confusion. By ‘paid subscription’ I was referring to what you stated by ‘monthly subscription’. That is, paying for the course individually vs. paying the general monthly subscription.

Are you on Coursera Plus? I think that’s the monthly subscription plan.

DL.AI courses are not offered via Coursera Plus (at least as far as I know at this moment).

Oh, I see. I just purchased the course individually but was considering the monthly subscription but I only prefer that if I can get access to DL.AI courses also. I wonder if there are others in this community on the monthly subscription that may have insight to any such differences.

Thank you so much, @TMosh for your feedback!

Yes, I only realized after paying for the Coursera Plus subscription, that the DL.AI courses were not included. I probably would have skipped that subscription had I known! While Coursera plus seems to be a good value, I wanted the DL.AI courses specifically. It took me months before I finally bit the bullet and made the additional purchase for DL.AI.

Hi @arlash ,

Try contacting Coursera and explain that you didn’t realise Deeplearning.ai courses are not included in the Coursera Plus subscription, and it is courses from Deeplearning.ai that you wanted to do. Coursera should make clear what courses are included in the Coursera Plus subscription, ask them if your Coursera Plus subscription can be refunded.

Thanks, dude. Same problem facing, and also new to Coursera to learn

@al0ksingh:
What problem are you referring to specifically?

Similar problem like deadline issue today, I got awarded with a financial aid program for machine learning, and it’s saying your course started on 1 Sep, and the deadline of the first assignment is tomorrow

Don’t worry about the deadlines. They are really only reminders. They will reset automatically.
