Inquiry Regarding Course Completion Deadline for "Deep Learning Specialization"

Hi,

I am enrolled in the “Deep Learning Specialization” program on Coursera, consisting of five courses. As per the program’s schedule, it is designed to be completed within five months. I have successfully completed the first three courses within the initial four months of the program. However, I have concerns about the remaining two courses.

Could you kindly provide clarification on the course completion deadline for the program? Specifically, I would like to know if I am required to finish the final two courses within the remaining month, or if the course content will remain accessible to me even after the official five-month duration of the program ends.

Thank you in advance for your assistance. I appreciate your attention and look forward to your prompt response.

Sincerely,
Alan

If you didn’t complete your course, you can reset the deadline at any time you want as long as you have a valid subscription or financial aid. Check this guide on how to reset course deadline.

Dear @saifkhanengr ,

Thank you very much for the reply. I read through the thread that you gave me. I still have one more doubt, If I can extend more than the allotted 5 months, will I be liable to pay fees for the extra duration of time? i.e. for example I take 2 more months, then in that case, should I pay for this extra period?

Alan

Hello Alan!

Actually, I did this specialization by getting financial ad, so, I cannot answer your question. But, I guess, if you have monthly subscription (i.e. for three month or six) then you have to pay for more months. On the other hand, if you paid for specialization, then you don’t need to pay for more months. But it is better to confirm from Coursera staff.

Hello @Alan_Michael_Thayil,

In my experience, that schedule is not compulsory nor guaranteed, but suggesting that we can finish it in 5 months. If your subscription is monthly basis, then you pay as you go for every new month, which means that we can end up paying for 6 months if we take 6 months to finish it.

Cheers,
Raymond

Hi Alan,

I wanted to check what happened when the course duration went by in your case? Did still have access to the material and assignments, and were able to obtain the certificate after the stipulated time? Or, did you have to pay for access beyond the allotted 5 months? I may be just a day or two short of finishing my last course and was wondering.

Bharti

You can extend the weekly deadlines as long as your subscription or enrollment is valid.

You can’t extend your enrollment term.

Thanks for the clarification!

Hello, I’m not seeing an option to change my schedule and get my course 3 certificate.
It’s on DLS.
