MLS being taken down?

I received an email from Coursera that MLS will stop accepting new students and existing students must complete all graded assignment by 10 Dec 2022. Is this course being taken down?

Hey @eugenis,
I am afraid yes, but you will find the new specialization to be more enriching in terms of knowledge than the older one.

A new MLS will come out again next year? :slightly_smiling_face:

I guess the only thing that is constant in our life is change. So, who are we to stop that? But I am pretty sure that MLS is there to stay for years, and only after it will educate the current generation of Machine Learning enthusiasts, it will come out again, all set to educate the next generation of ML enthusiasts.

HAPPY LEARNING

For a moment I have a feeling that @eugenis was asking whether this newly launched MLS has a deadline in this Dec. For those who have that question in mind, I think the deadline is for the old ML courses and not for the new courses under the new MLS.

Oh my bad, so it is the old ML course that will be taken down. I thought it’s referring to this new MLS. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Hi @eugenis,

The new MLS consists of 3 courses. The first 2 courses went live on 16 June. The 3rd course should be out sometime in July. The new MLS is based on Python, and Tensorflow. Prof. Ng went to a great length to make this updated series of courses beginners friendly and relevant for anyone who wants to gain skills on machine learning.
