Submit assignment button not appearing

Hello, Anyone else facing similar problem? I tried the suggestions i found so far

  • Updated lab, rebooted server
  • Restarted kernel
  • Reopened assignment from File tab

But still not able to see the Submit Assignment button.

Did you try “Kernel → Restart and Clear Output” followed by “Save”? If that doesn’t fix it, then it may be a browser problem or maybe an IT problem of some sort (firewall blocking some URLs). Or perhaps just “bad weather” in the cloud. Have you taken earlier DLS courses and done the assignments without this problem? Or is this your first DLS course?

I have successfully done the first 4 courses of DLS. Will try your suggestion.

still no luck. I tried to goto next assignment in same week and I could see the Submit Assignment button. It seems problem is specific to this Assignment in Course 5 Week 1 Assignment 1.
After Restarting kernel and clearing output, when I try to do a Save As also, it gives an error

It’s a mistake to give it a different name. Instead of “Save As” just click the little “Disk” icon. Please give that a try and see if it helps.

The “Save” may not be relevant if you have not done any work on the notebook yet but it may help if you’ve run the notebook and generated some output. That’s why I suggested the “Clear Output” followed by “Save”. If those two by themselves don’t get you the “Submit”, then also try closing and reopening again (“Work in Browser”) after that.

Do not rename your notebooks. Only bad things will result.

I have tried below things now

  1. Closed browser, logged in to coursera again, reopened the assignment (Work in Browser) - No luck
  2. Deleted all files in /W1A1 folder and did “Get Latest version” from lab help - still no luck in getting the “submit assignment” button back.

I have a deadline coming up now. Requesting for help from admins.

The deadlines are meaningless and will just automatically reset if you miss them. There is no penalty.

Can you try opening the second and third assignments in C5 W1 and see if you get “Submit” buttons there?

I’ll also ask the course staff if there is a known problem with C5 W1 A1.

thanks sir. I successfully completed C5 W1 A2 yesterday and even for C5 W1 A3, submit assignment tab is there.

Interesting. FWIW I do not see the “Submit Assignment” problem on C5 W1 A1, so it’s not a sitewide problem whatever the problem actually is. Let’s see if the course staff can shed any light.
