When working with Week2 Lab for 30 mins in the module, there is a shutdown of instance suddenly experienced and it happened for 3-4 occurrences observed in last 10 hours. This started creating a long interruptive obstacle to complete the lab exercises on time.

Again the reinitiation of the instance takes 15 mins to bounce back and make the instance up and running.

Thanks for reporting this, it seems it happens in different labs. I got this message yesterday after two hours in a Course 4 assignment when the cloud9 environment disconnected.
You could run in a new terminal source scripts/setup_jupyter_env.sh and try to get a new url. That way I could continue with the previous notebook and save some time instead of waiting 15 minutes to reinitiate the instance. Hope it helps
I could take it through somehow. However, I shall try this for upcoming exercises.
