W1 Lab1: Why do we need to sign in with Google to access the Colab?

When creating a post, please add:

  • Week 1
  • Lab: Neural Style Transfer
  • The Colab that is launched requires a Google sign-in to execute. This has never been the case before for any Coursera/DeepLearning.AI courses. Why can’t we get access to the Colabs with our Coursera credentials as has always been the case?

I havent tried without a google account, but to access colab you need a google account so…

The course instructor works for Google. So that’s maybe a factor.
