Following the instructions I have first created a shortcut to the folder TF3 C3 W1 Data. I was however getting an error while trying to mount the drive “Credentials cannot be propagated”. I have therefore deleted the previously created shortcut and removed the folder from the “Shared with me” to start from scratch. Now however I am not even able to create the shortcut, I am getting an error “NO more shortcuts can be created for this item” (despite not having any shortcuts left in my drive)

Hello @Sebastiano_Rossi
Could you try the following, first clear the recycle bin in the google drive, then clear your browser and cache history. log out and re-log in coursera, then go to the classroom page, and start again with the steps to follow to connect to your drive. (Note make sure, you allow the steps to connect the drive as you are doing this assignment in colab.google and the assignments wants it to be located in the placed it will look further in the notebook.
If the issue still persists, let me know. If the above issue doesn’t work, what you could do is use a different google account drive to connect, this should surely resolve the creating shortcut issue.

Hello @Deepti_Prasad . Unfortunately both the suggested solutions have failed. Strangely, even by using a different account I still get the issue “No more shortcuts can be created for this item”

Can I see the message you get when you try to connect.can you take a screenshot of it. Also, did you clear your recycle bin of your Google drive, before trying to connect to the drive.
Yes I have cleaned the google drive of my original account, tried with anew account and even tried with the new account and another browser (firefox)…still the same error. I could download and upload manually the folder…but I still face the second error about credential not propagating when trying to mount the drive in the colab

@Sebastiano_Rossi
Did you follow the below steps, and then deleted the TF3 C3 W1 Data??

Hi. Yes, as I have explained, I have done it (even if is the dropdown menu is Organize>Add shortcut then I selected “My Drive”) and it worked the first time, but then as it failed to mount the drive, I have deleted the shortcut to start from scratch (I have, also, as you suggested, tried to empty the trash bin and tried with another account). From then on however the creation of the shortcut always gives the error: “No more shortcuts can be created for this item”
Additionally the error while trying to mount the drive still persist: “MessageError: Error: credential propagation was unsuccessful”

Hello @Sebastiano_Rossi
could you introduce the below section in your notebook once and see if your Google Colab mounts with drive
from google.colab import drive
drive._mount('/content/drive')
I am also tagging @chris.favila, in case he can give solution on this.
Hi @chris.favila, the learner is encountering issue in mounting his colab with his google drive. Could you please advise any other way. as long as I remember when I had such issue, I was able to remount again, but for him it is giving an message error.

Hi Sebastiano, and thank you for reporting! We’ll look into this and update the notebook as needed.
Hello again. The dataset setup is now revised to download it directly. No need for shortcuts. Please re-open the notebook from the classroom to see the changes. Thanks!
