Hello! Just after I click “open tool” on the Coursera I see this:
Tried in private/incognito mode, tried Firefox and Chrome - nothing helps.
I also noticed this:
It says that the lab is “Started” but it actually was never ever started.

Hi! Welcome to Discourse! Thank you for reporting and we have also forwarded this to Qwiklabs for checking. Will update this thread as soon as we hear back from them. They might be updating something on the backend because this lab has a few issues that need to be fixed. Hope it will be up again soon! Sorry for the inconvenience!
Hi! Thank you very much.
Yes , I also have the same problem.
I have the same when clicking Open Tool
:
“Sorry, TFX on Google Cloud AI Platform Pipelines is currently unavailable” in the same big red horizontal rectangle.
Dear @chris.favila,
This is really inconvenient. It is the only graded exercise that I left and I will have to pay an extra month just for this.
Is there any solution for us?
Jesus
Hi! Welcome to Discourse! I am sorry to hear that and I understand your concern. We didn’t expect the downtime to be this long. Can you go to the Learner Help Center and click on the chat icon on the lower right? Maybe you can ask a Coursera agent if they can pause your subscription and then use the remaining time when the lab is up again. Please clarify that you hope to preserve your remaining days so you won’t have to pay extra when your subscription is unpaused. Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee yet if this will be granted.
I have to bring this up with our management and Coursera partners but because of the Thanksgiving holidays, it might take till next week to come up with a resolution. Rest assured that I will give an update as soon as possible. Thank you!
Hi!
I am having the same problem as Jesús. I don’t see any chat icon in the Learner Help Center (I have logged in). Is there any way Coursera could provide what you mention as a default for those users that only have this assignment left?
Thanks
Hi! If you don’t see this icon on the lower right:
then you can also reach out to Coursera through this form . In any case, I’ve also messaged our partner and hopefully we get a resolution when offices reopen later.
Thank you for your patience and rest assured that our team has this on our priority list.
Hi,
It’s been a week since I faced this issue. I did mail the Qwiklabs support but haven’t received any update. It would be great if we could get some alternative assignment and keep this assignment optional to complete the specialisation.
Hi everyone! Just an update, our partner in Coursera has acknowledged the issue. Will update this again when we have an official resolution. Thank you!
Hi everyone! We’ve heard back from our partner and they said the bug in the lab is still being fixed. With that, we’ve revised the passing threshold of this assignment so you will automatically pass. Please let me know if that is what you see in the classroom and you are able to complete the course. Thank you!
Hi, I don’t see the automatic pass… is there anything we should do?
Regards
Miguel
Hi Miguel! Welcome to Discourse and thank you for the quick feedback. It seems modifying the threshold did not work as expected. I’ve already forwarded this to Coursera and we are actively working on a resolution. Thank you and will update you again soon!
Not to make light of the situation, but this is actually a super effective final exercise in this course/certification!
Sometimes, despite all the diligent studying, preparation, and hard work, a software or tool issue will come up, or a partner you depend on for support will have their own issues that will put your project/pipeline/deployment at a standstill. It costs time and money and is frustratingly out of your control.
Kudos to those doing the work to fix it, and may we all handle our troubleshooting issues with grace and remember what it feels like to be on the other end of them.
Congrats to all my fellow learners in the home stretch!
Hi everyone! We have some good news! While the original lab is being fixed, our partner put a replacement Qwiklabs for this week. Please visit your classroom to see it. It is an introduction to a new AI pipelines platform in GCP and while this particular exercise does not use TFX, it will still contain similar concepts you’ve seen before (e.g. building Kubeflow pipelines and AutoML). By completing this lab, you should now be able to get a grade and complete the course. It works in our internal testing but please let me know if it also does on your end. Thank you very much!
I could complete the course with the above change. Thanks team for your prompt support.
