Got the same error for last 2 days. I have tried the instruction to duplicate the notebook but “Permission denied: release/W1A1/Initialization-Copy1.ipynb” this message is popping up. Please help!

I have the same problem. I got this problem for my last assignment. Are we going to get extension to complete the course?

Many learners told us that this workaround can help them get a new copy of assignment that has the permission to save work and submit work as usual. This is something you could try to keep moving on.
As for extension, it is an account-related matter and I suggest you to contact with Coursera about your situation since they are the party that manages your account.

But it should work without workarounds? This is not a cheap course. One of the reason we choose coursera is that it is one of the best learning platforms in the world with the best content, namely this world class Deep learning specialization course. So if the 4.9 rating should continue, it should be fixed soon? I would like to give this course 5 stars, but I am not going to do it, if such a bug continue to exists.
I love the course. But this bug is quite annoying.
