Certificate Access Requires Paid Subscription

During the holiday break, I completed several courses on https://learn.deeplearning.ai. Only afterward did I realize that certificates are accessible only through a paid subscription. This wasn’t very pleasant, particularly given the relatively high subscription cost compared to the available content.

At the moment, the platform offers roughly 120 courses, many of which are pretty short and feel more like introductory or promotional material rather than comprehensive learning experiences. As a result, the subscription’s overall value is not particularly compelling.

I found the presentation on certificate access somewhat unclear. Greater transparency upfront would help set better expectations, and learners should not feel pressured to subscribe after already investing substantial time in the coursework.

The “Short Course” offerings do not offer a certificate. They do have some sort of recognition of completion. These Short Courses do not provide any graded assignments - hence no certificate.

Certificates for full-Courses on the DL.AI Platform (which do have graded assignments) are only available through the Pro subscription. The graded assignments are only available for Pro members, or if you are on a one-week free trial.

The free trial gives you access to the materials, but it does not earn you a certificate (because you’re not a Pro member until you pay the fee).
