I’m interested in running the notebooks locally in Jupyter Lab. I’ve been able to download them but I’m having issues recreating the environment which appears to rely on an older version of Matplotlib. Is there any advise you can give on creating an environment to run these labs locally?

It’s very difficult. You need to download all of the notebook resources (there is a “Lab Files” tool for that), and then you have to install the same versions of the tools and assets that Coursera uses.
Yeh I got the lab files downloaded as a zip file but the notebooks ran very imperfectly due (primarily I think) to deprecation of features in matplotlib. I had CoPilot trying to figure it out versions for an hour to no avail. I wonder if Coursera has a requirements.txt file available?
Not that I have seen.
