I’m Riya and am new to ML/AI. I’m currently working full-time as a Hardware Engineer. I’m looking to collaborate with people on some projects I can work on the side. I’m interested in AI for healthcare. Please reach out if anyone is interested in collaborating. I’m open to project ideas.
@riyajain26 this has been an interesting (and I think perhaps quite fruitful) area of interest to me as well.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) at least here in the US even anonymized random medical data is extremely difficult to obtain (due to HIPAA)–
Case in point (and just as a joke), I found myself with a Cardiologist several weeks ago, and as a precaution, they had me run an ionized stress test.
And I’d been as observant to notice, in almost all of modern medicine, the EKG is the one instance where almost universally a digital print out is obtained. I mean, yes, it is recorded digitally these days too-- But I asked, ‘Well, okay, why ?’-- And he went on to explain they are all stored in a medical basement of a major city near me for like 7 years, and then destroyed-- Sort of the way ‘old medicine’ was.
And granted, I was not happy to be there in the first place, but a little of the ‘devil’s advocate’ sprung up in me-- You mean to tell me there is a physical place I can break into to steal all the boxes of documents to train my AI model ?!
Of course it was not serious, just a joke…
But if you have any (legal and legitimate) ideas surrounding getting over the data starvation issue I’m all ears.
Hey Riya, I want to do a project in ML related to healthcare, I would be glad to work with you.

I’m new to this platform, and your project caught my eye. It’s interesting to me! I’m a student specialized in AIML, but I’m not quite at the industry level yet. I’m looking forward to collaborating on my first project with you!
see you on LinkedIn.
