New to AI - need guidence

Hello everyone, I am new to the field of AI. I have completed some certifications and read various guidelines to understand the core concepts. However, most of the knowledge I’ve gained is theoretical, and I am finding it challenging to start a project on my own. Could anyone guide me on the types of projects I should focus on as a beginner, or recommend platforms that would be helpful for gaining practical experience?

Hi @Payal2

Welcome payal to DeepLearning.AI

Can you briefly provide your education and work experience, and also any specific area of AI you are more interested, so we can guide you the right way.

Thank You

Thank you for your response. I come from a commerce background and recently completed my MBA. I have a total of 6 years of work experience, currently working as a Product Manager at a small finance bank. Although my expertise is in banking and finance, I’m keen to transition into the AI field, particularly exploring how AI, especially Generative AI, can enhance customer experiences.

Have you done any python course earlier?

Yes, I have done cs50 intro to computer science from Harvard , they have one subject python

i would first suggest you to start with. AI for python beginners to brush up the skills you might have learnt before, from there in what sector you want to be expertise will depend on your experience when you do the course.

like for example you did the course and only want to have understanding of how ai can be used in your field?

So the choice of the courses will depend on your interest to explore

If you are interested in understanding and creating solution in financial sectors, then going to major course MLS, DLS, TF, NLP would be a good way make your basic of AI to get strong.

But in case you are only interested in knowing LLMs creation, then going with MLS, Gen AI LLMs with other short courses of your choice would be good to go.
