Running into the same issue after taking 35 minutes to load the AWS environment (green light).

Hi @Tiferet & @dbiber ,

I came across this issue once before. The issue resolved automatically for the learner by restarting the session after 4 hours. Let me know if you are facing this issue again after restarting the lab.

Hey @sriharsha0806 ,

Really appreciate your responsiveness.

Yes the problem did indeed go away once the session expired after 4 hours.

By the way, I accidentally clicked “Start Lab” while working on the lab and the timer reset to 4:00 hours without the AWS environment restarting. Is this intended? Does this mean I can extend my lab if I need more time by clicking “Start Lab” when my current session is live?

I have clicked start lab in the instruction page that we shared. The load circle just keeps spinning and eventually fails to start now.

Hi @Tiferet,

I do not know whether we can extend session. The typical process is when the lab starts, it is available for 4 hours. After the expiration it will take up to 20 min to clean up resources. Then you can start it again anytime(no daily quota), but it will take 10 to 20 mins longer to load. I will ask and let you know whether session extension possible or not?

Hi @dbiber,

What is the color of AWS button? Did you find any short screen appearing and displaying data of the AWs session assigned to you.

it is yellow and when i click it it says “Your lab is starting…please wait” it has been several hours since my last attempt.

it eventually turned green a second ago. I clicked it and i can get into the console now!

Hi @dbiber,

Congratulations, all the best in completing the assignment. If you are facing this issue again, continue to post in this thread only to better understand the problem. I have come across this issue up until now only three times including yours today, So I hope you won’t come across the issue again.

@Tiferet Thanks for reporting the issue. Please send me the AWS account number if you still have this problem. Thank you!

Hi @Tiferet,

Update regarding the extension of the lab hours. Unfortunately, it is not possible to extend the lab time. However the learner can save the notebook, and after the end of the time start the lab again (it will just take longer to load), drop the same notebook and rerun it.
