Hello - How do I push forward/reset deadline of my weekly submission?
As far as I recall, I didn’t see any option and under grades, it continued
to show old due date…that’s why asking
When your assignment becomes overdue, you’ll get a popup message or banner that suggests you update your deadline.
last week, I was overdue in my submission, but, never saw a pop up or an option to reset the deadline…it simply showed due date with a prefix of
a minus sign and nothing to push forward or reset it…please advise !
I have not heard of this before.
Are you enrolled in the course, or are you using a free trial?
Please post a screen capture image that shows what you have described.
I am definitely enrolled in this course…not using a free trial…
I don’t believe I have old screenshots of the time when
I was getting the due date with minus signs…
I’ll take screenshots on Monday as I know I am likely going
to miss the submission deadline as I am tied up with other
unrelated personal tasks and won’t be able to submit in
time…
Are you able to push forward the deadline for me by 1 week ?
No, sorry. Mentors can’t do that.
Are you prevented from submitting your work? Or is this just an annoyance?
no, the app/interface doesn’t prevent me from submitting work even after passing of deadline…But, regardless of it being an annoyance or not, if there were to to be an option (via the coursera web interface) to customize/adjust the timeline/push forward the date from student’s end, I’d like to use it upfront/in advance …
I had a chat w/help desk and from what I understood, one has to miss
one’s submission deadline by 2 weeks before the reset timeline option
is displayed…
Thanks for the update.
Note that the submission deadlines really aren’t deadlines - there is no penalty for missing them. They’re more like annoying reminders to encourage students to keep moving forward.
The only deadline that really matters is if your course subscription is about to expire.
