There appears to be a HUGE Update to the Content

I wanted to ask why there was a HUGE overhaul of the course. I was taking the course, and when I went back to the review the ungraded labs and videos, they seem to be completely different to what I learned a couple days ago. For example, for the NLP course, there is no mention of the Tokenizer class. Instead Laurence goes over something called Text_Vectorization. This really threw me off.

Tokenizer is deprecated. The new version of the course uses tensorflow 2.16 and doesn’t use deprecated APIs.

Thanks

Hi @AchintyaGahalaut I understand your concern, the material that is being release as it was point out is meant to help learners to work with the most recent updates to stay relevant to the market, AI/ML is being rapidily changing that includes frameworks such as tensorflow, the good thing is that you can take advantage of this new material to learn and prepare yourself to work with tensorflow in their most recent version, this might require to go back, check things online and work a bit harder to keep up, everything is part of the learning process and as you growth in your career you’ll see this type of changes in frameworks and tools are common

Hope this helps!

Hi, can you please specify the exact lab/lecture that you noticed that there was an update. Is this the first TF developer specialization, or the advanced one ?
I took the first TF developer specialization last year, and I just went back to the course website. The lectures/labs seem to be the same as the ones I took and worked on.

Thanks. Really appreciate the heads up.

people who have already completed the course they will not have access on the updated or newer version of the course @Nick_B1 and tf developer professional course c1, c2 and c3 was updated last week.

@Deepti_Prasad
Really appreciate your clarification. Hope you don’t mind if I ask a follow up question.
I’m finishing up the DL specialization now, and planning on taking the advanced TF specialization next. Was the advanced TF curriculum also updated to match the new TF dev professional courses ?

Thanks again !

No Nick Tf Advanced specialisation is not updated although there are some tensorflow and keras version issue with some course assignment which you can let us know if you encounter too, will provide you the solution or you can use the search tool also to find similar threads.

Thank you !!
Will do. I will search, and then reach out if stuck on some of the assignments.
