Did you make sure to choose de-c1w4-public-subnet-a as the subnet?
As I can see in the screenshot you sent, you are choosing the private subnet instead of the public one. Please, change the subnet and try again.

But, how do I achieve that, may I ask?
By default the subnet is set to private it seems, which wasn’t documented in Vocareum.
When you are creating your Cloud9 environment, after you choose de-c1w4 as your VPC, you can click on the subnet dropdown menu and choose the one that suit you. The following screenshot is from another lab I am working on, but the procedure is the same.
Please, tell me if the issue persists.
