Is the promotion over ?
It feels disappointing. First, the offer didn’t work as announced in the email. Now, another email comes informing you that you can try again, but the Coursera page shows a message that the offer limit has been reached.
Please read this thread about this offer:
Since that thread is closed to comments, you can reply here if necessary.
I don’t see the message, but neither can I take advantage of the promotion. When I click on “Enroll” at Coursera, it asks for payment information and says I will be billed 49 dollars per month. In my case, it has always worked like that, even when most people were getting two months for half the price (I would have been happy with that option too).
As for 15th of December 2024, nothing was fixed
Monthly subscription
$49.00 USD
Promotion (50% off)
-$24.50 USD
then $49.00 USD/mo
Total:
$24.50 USD
It happens again, despite the offer:
" Start for Free
Start this Specialization or Course & your first month of learning is free. See More Offers"
Please be sure you’ve read the linked thread above.
The original offer was modified to clarify that it only applied to Specializations, but not individual Courses.
It may have had a time-limited term, I do not know.
I tried with the Deep Learning Specialization. It never worked.
I don’t even see this. I’d be happy with 50% off instead of nothing.
Are you using the correct URL? Maybe the offer has expired.
I just captured this image, so the link is still good.
Yes. I open an e-mail I got from Deep Learning AI, with the subject “Update from Deep Learning.AI”. This message explains that there were issues, and so forth, and that these issues have been solved. Then I click on one of the links, which takes me to that URL, and when I attempt to enroll, I see the 49 dollars a month thing. Perhaps I’m not eligible? I did use the 7-day trial before (because it was the only available option). On the other hand, I never saw the 50% discount either. The message also had something about clearing the browser cache. I tried with several browsers, clearing the cache, and nothing. It’s very strange.
And now, the “Enroll” button just stopped working. Coursera seems to be having technical issues. The button does nothing now.
That’s interesting.
Sorry, there is nothing I can do about this.
It’s not about the link. It never was.
It is about how the checkout logic is implemented. Obviously, Coursera has some policies applied individually depending on past activity, region, etc.
So, the information about the first free month is still misleading because it was not properly tested or validated on diffrent scenarios
I know. Never mind and thanks for the help.
That’s possible. But perhaps they should say so. Or, at least, provide at least some way of contacting support.
EDIT: I found a contact form.
EDIT: I had an answer. They are having technical issues.
Several days ago it was posted that the issue has been resolved, but it persisted. I opened a ticket with Coursera and they responded saying it’s fixed but there was still an issue. I’ve seen 2 different options at checkout for the ML specialization - on mobile it directly charges $49 for the first month and on the web it gives 7 days free before charging $49. I never saw any option for 1 month free before being charged $49. I’ve sent all this to Coursera support and I’ve been waiting a couple days to hear back.
Perhaps that promotion has expired.
