C3_W5: Unable to create a notebook instance

I am unable to create a new notebook instance for C3_W5 graded exercise.
Error Message: instance-20230807-200810: The zone ‘projects/qwiklabs-gcp-01-7660de97b8f0/zones/us-central1-a’ does not have enough resources available to fulfill the request. Try a different zone, or try again later.: Something went wrong. Sorry about that.

I tried different zones, which did not change the outcome. Please help.

This suggestion is not that helpful for the issue that seems widespread.
The qwiklabs setup is buggy causing us to get stuck at multiple places. Isn’t it your responsiblity that you leverage your replationship with your vendor to resolve the issue rather than asking everyone to reach out indvidually?

I recommended Qwiklabs help since they host the labs and can work with google regarding provisioning issues. It’s a good idea to start there since the bug isn’t related to the lab content but with infrastructure.

The staff have been notified regarding this issue now. Someone will reply to this topic.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the late reply to this topic. In case you haven’t seen it yet, there’s a note in the classroom instructions about creating the notebooks:

There are a few unclear instructions in Task 1.2 in this Qwiklab, but it can be completed successfully. We’ve reported it to our partners for fixing. To create the notebook, select “User-Managed Notebooks”, then click “Create New” at the top. You can then follow the rest of the instructions to set up the environment.

The previous error likely stems from using the other panels in the Vertex AI Workbench. If you use “User-Managed Notebooks”, the notebook will likely get created successfully. Hope this helps!
