Troubleshooting: Problem with Lab Access and Start Time

I am still having this issue. Is there any update on when it might be resolved?

hi Chris, Im in the same situation without the option to open the preconfigured domain. As you suggest Im going to submit the lab uncompleted, in the ssumption that I can come back when its fixed and have my grade resubmitted?? . For now Iv’e logged out and waiting the two hours to restart. Thnaks for your update.

Ok - this is Plan B. However, we need to be able to run the lab so we get the necessary hands on

Thanks for the support, and the active follow ups with the AWS team to fix this issue. I am also facing the same issue of not finding the last used domain on reopening Sagemaker, and waiting for some resolution around this.
As per your recommendation, I wanted to confirm if I would be able to access the Labs later, even after getting the certificate, if we just submit the Labs for now to meet the deadlines?
Or will the Vocareum access be revoked, on course completion?

I am having this ‘Create Sagemaker Domain’ issue since Friday. I must have tried about 20 times. As you suggested above, I have noted down my account # and other details. To whom should I send that to? Cheers Ram

@chris.favila have another question. In the instructions, there is one step where we have to copy the labs over to the studio workspace:

aws s3 cp --recursive s3://dlai-generative-ai/labs/w1-549876/ ./

Can we just go ahead and use our own AWS account and copy the labs over and try out? Will it work or is there any special lab environment that is created and would preclude us from doing the lab in another account?

Hi everyone! We have more people looking into the Sagemaker domain problem but unfortunately, it’s not yet solved. I will follow up again tomorrow and see if I can get an ETA.

To know the exact dates when your lab access expires, you can reach out to the Learner Help Center (instructions here). The support agents there should be able to check your account and give you the final date. From a previous conversation with Coursera, they said that purchasing a Certificate (i.e. not a monthly subscription) should have a validity of 180 days from the time of payment. Within that period, you should be able to access the labs even after completion. You can confirm this policy for your account in the Learner Help Center.

On another note, if you have a question that is not related to lab access, kindly create a new topic instead outside this thread. That will make this topic less flooded so we can find information easier.

Hello- I still do not have access to complete Lab1. The account deactivated after some time but I am supposed to be able to access again. I have filled out the form to report it and still have not heard anything. Could someone help me access the lab so I can finish it? Thanks much!

It is very frustrating to not complete the course that is paid with no lab access. I am also the victim of not been able to start the studio to access any lab materials.

I still have the domain issue for C2W2 lab, but the C2W3 lab can be access without problem (there is a domain) . Really odd.

Looking forward to the fix.

Extremely Disappointing and Frustrating, its been more than three days now. I did not wish to continue further before completing the Week2 Lab, however have no choice now.

I’m not able to access the sage-maker studio:
It’s a hands on lab.

@chris.favila after receiving your direct message about the labs issue being resolved I tried checking sagemaker and and it has not changed, there is still no domain available. I am trying to complete lab 1.

EDIT: Like others below I also did not face this issue the first time sagemaker spun up, however once the first session timed out I no longer had a domain available.

I also am facing the Sagemaker domain issue. FWIW it worked when I first loaded the lab, but I didn’t have the time to complete the lab then so I exited out. Upon returning to try again later, I consistently see the “Create a SageMaker domain” button in Studio.

Hi, Any estimated time from AWS for this Sagemaker domain issue to be solved? Facing this issue for Lab 3 since last week, it’s almost one week now. Not a good experience here.
