Unable to complete Lab 2

I am unable to proceed with the Lab assignment for Week 2 of the course. The kernel dies every time I try to train the model (without any changes to the original parameters from the notebook). After couple of tries, now the AWS environment is not starting and gives the error message - “AWS account deactivated at 2023-10-04T17:31:19-07:00”. Please help.

Confirming I have the same issue - kernel died after trying to download the model, and then now trying to start the lab from Vocareum gives me a “AWS account deactivated at 2023-10-07T01:58:16-07:00” error.

Hi everyone. Kernel crashes are usually related to the instance type selected. Kindly check point 10 here in the FAQ. You will also see info there on how to reactivate your accounts. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I have the same problem, I didn’t manage to complete the lab since the kernel dies. I’m about to give up. Is there anyone who can help?

Hi everyone,

I am facing the same issue. There is one cell in the lab, where the kernel dies and afterwards it is impossible to restart nor to recover the lab, your account gets blocked with the cleanup.

Is there any workaround to avoid the kernel death?

Hi Rosa. Have you double-checked the instance type? Can you provide a screenshot like in item 10 of the FAQ but also include the cell with the error message? Unfortunately, I’m not able to reproduce the issue. The training was successful when I tried it recently, as shown below:
